Vinegar is an excellent household product for removing dried slime from plush toys. It works due to the acetic acid content of vinegar, which dissolves the slime by disrupting the connection between the PVA molecule and the borate ion.

Things You’ll Need

  • Two Cups of White Vinegar
  • One Cup of Warm Water
  • Spray Bottle
  • Soft-bristled Brush

Instructions

  1. First, remove as much dried slime as possible using a plastic butter knife.
  2. Combine two cups of vinegar and a cup of tepid water in an empty spray bottle.
  3. After shaking the bottle, spritz the solution on the dried slime, but don’t over-saturate.
  4. Let the vinegar solution work on the slime for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Once the waiting period ends, gently scrub the affected area with a soft-bristled brush until the slime disappears.
  6. If the slime is still there, redo the whole process once again.
  7. In the end, blot the area with a clean microfiber cloth and let the toy air dry.
