The organic compound (acetic acid) not only gives the vinegar its sour taste and sharp, acidic properties, but it is also strong enough to dissolve mineral deposits, dirt, grease, and grime present on surfaces. Besides, the vinegar helps in cleaning the germs on different surfaces as well.

1. Glass

Mixing one part water with two parts vinegar can help you get a fantastic glass cleaning solution. You can also add a few drops of liquid dishwashing soap if you feel certain stains are more challenging than the others. Add this mixture to a spray bottle and spray the mix over the surface area to wipe and clean it.

2. Kitchen Countertops

Kitchen or table countertops not only have sticky grease or food stains on them, but they can also have food odor. Besides cleaning and removing the countertops’ odor, a vinegar solution can even help you deter insects like ants from your countertops at night. For the solution, mix one-part water with two parts of vinegar and a teaspoon of dishwashing soap (liquid). This solution is an excellent cleaning medium for all types of stains. However, given the acidic nature of vinegar, avoid using it on granite or marble countertops. 

3. Bathroom Tubs and Shower Area

Since the vinegar’s acidic nature helps cut through the grime and even water stains, it is an ideal cleaning solution for bathrooms. Red wine vinegar mix can effectively clean soap scum and mildew found in the corners or on the bathroom tiles. To clean these tough culprits, pour or spray the vinegar directly over them and let it sit for fifteen minutes. Then, scrub off the grime and mildew with a mixture of baking soda and vinegar.

Spraying fixtures and faucets can have some tough stains, especially those left behind by water. To get rid of these stains, make a mixture with two spoons of vinegar and one spoon of salt. Apply it to the faucets and scrub it off after a few minutes. This mixture also helps in removing any calcium deposits on the taps. You can also mix one part vinegar in two parts water in a polybag and tie it around the faucet overnight (the stained area submerged in the liquid). Scrub off the tap in the morning and witness the stains disappearing in front of your eyes!

5. Toilet Seats 

Vinegar can help you clean your toilets as well! For cleaning the seats without efforts:

  1. Pour around three cups of undiluted red wine vinegar in your toilet seat.
  2. Leave it overnight.
  3. Scrub the seat the following morning and flush.

Not only does the vinegar remove the rings around the bowl, but it also kills germs in the seat. 

6. Floors

This all-purpose cleaner is ideal for cleaning floors as well. Add a cup of vinegar to one bucket of water for daily cleaning and disinfecting of floors. However, make sure you are not using this vinegar water on wooden floors or marble floors as the vinegar’s acidic properties can damage these floors. 

7. Dishwasher and Washing Machines

Dishwashers and washing machines can collect soap/detergent scum over some time. Vinegar can help remove this accumulated soap scum from your appliances. For the process, add a cup of vinegar to your machine and run it for a complete cycle. 

8. Clothes

Vinegar is an efficient choice to remove stains and odor from garments. Therefore, you can it to your washing bucket to remove tough stains and odors from your clothes. Make sure you don’t use red wine vinegar on light clothes with stains and odors, or you will be dealing with another red stain.

9. Kitchen or Home Appliances

Vinegar is a great natural substitute to store-bought chemicals for cleaning kitchen and home appliances thoroughly. You can spray a mix of water and vinegar on the appliances and clean with a microfiber cloth for the method.
