Hard water stains on your glasses are a result of high concentration of calcium and magnesium in hard water. These minerals build up over time on a surface in constant contact with hard water. Since hard water stains deteriorate the original shine of utensils, it can be annoying to some people.

If you wish to remove such stains from your utensils, we recommend you this easy lifehack. Use this trick in every few weeks or months to maintain the shine of your utensils like new!

Ingredients

  • Vinegar – 2 to 3 Cup
  • Water

Method

  1. Fill your sink with ample water so that it covers the utensils you wish to put into it. You can also use any large container. Keep in mind that irrespective of anything you use, your utensil should be fully submerged in water.
  2. Add one cup of vinegar to the water. If you have worse stains on your utensils, you can add more 1/2-1/4 cup of vinegar to the water.
  3. Let the utensils soak in the water for at least 1-2 hours. Once you notice the stains to fade away, take out the utensil and wash it as you normally do!
  4. In case if the utensil still has any stains left, soak it for another 30 minutes and wash normally.

Pro Tip: In case you don’t want to do this trick again and again in every few week or month, you can install a water softener instead! Water softeners safely remove the high content of mineral and calcium from hard water which in turn prevents hard water from returning!

So, the next time you see hard stains on any of your utensils try this lifehack to save your time and efforts!
