Try out this homemade deep conditioner for natural hair to relieve hair breakage and split ends while promoting hair strength and growth!
If we go by the definition, natural hair means the hair that hasn’t been exposed to any sort of chemical and heat treatments. But if we understand it deeply, it’s the afro-textured hair most often seen in Africa. However, a certain population of South and Southeast Asia also has a natural hair type. There many sub-types under the natural hair type but the major problems with all of them are ‘DRYNESS’. Natural hair is more prone to damage due to it’s rough and dry texture, which leads to breakage. But a proper care regime can give them enough nourishment and soften them without using harmful chemicals. One such method is to deep condition them twice a week.
Deep Conditioning
Everyone conditions their hair after shampooing but with deep conditioning, you ensure that the cream reaches your roots and fosters healthy growth. A deep conditioning method restores and locks the moisture and repairs dry and brittle hair. It features many advantages, such as it gives your hair the natural shine and luster and even reduces itching. People often use deep conditioning over hair that is chemically-treated to undo the damage. Yet, if you have virgin hairs, you can as well try this method at home to maintain the health of your hair.
A parlor appointment for deep conditioning can be expensive, moreover, it doesn’t offer chemical-free treatment as well. Therefore, you can try this homemade deep conditioner for natural hair at home with the following DIY. This recipe has Argan oil, which is beneficial to prevent and reduce hair fall. And the Jamaican black castor oil moisturizes, strengthens, and promotes hair growth. For the conditioner, you need to find a sulfate-free conditioner and shampoo as sulfate can dry your hair with its propensity to alter the natural oils in your scalp. Yet if you wish to go for a more natural substitute- you can use mashed bananas, coconut milk, and an egg in place of the conditioner.

- Give all the ingredients a final mix and if the consistency is too thin or thick, add half a banana or 2-3 tsp coconut oil respectively.
Homemade Deep Conditioner For Natural Hair Application
- Comb out your hair and do a middle partition from front to the back. Further, divide the hair into small sections to make the application easier.
- Take a little amount of the conditioner at a time and apply it to the hair, starting from the roots to the tips. When you complete one section, tie it with a hair tie or clutch them and work on the next section. Similarly, cover all the hair with the homemade conditioner.
- Once you cover all the hair, wear a shower cap over your head covering every strand of the hair.
- Next, if you have a deep conditioner cap, toss it in the microwave for 30 seconds and wear it afterward. If not, then take a hairdryer and blow hot air above the shower cap you’re wearing for 10-20 minutes by the clock.
- After 20 minutes, rinse off your hair and let it dry naturally. Once it dries, you’ll notice the results on your own. Remember, while your hair is drying don’t comb them as it can lead to breakage.
